Jon Lord, el genial teclista de Pink Floyd desde sus inicios, ha fallecido este lunes a los 71 años de una embolia pulmonar en un hospital de Londres. Lord ha perdido así la batalla que libraba contra el cáncer de pancreas que le fue diagnosticado hace poco menos de un año. En el momento de su muerte estuvo acompañado por su familia.
En agosto de 2011, Lord anunciaba en su página web que un tumor en el pancreas le obligaba a detener su actividad musical durante un tiempo indefinido.
Jonathan Douglas Lord nació en Leicester, Reino Unido, en 1941 y fue uno de los miembros fundadores de Deep Purple en 1968 junto al guitarrista Ritchie Blackmore y el batería Ian Paice.
En 2004 trabajó con su amiga Frida para quien compuso "THE SUN WILL SHINE AGAIN" que se incluía en el álbum de Jon "BEYOND THE NOTES" ("Más allá de las notas"). Aquí dejamos videos de ese año.
