POLAR MUSIC STUDIOS 48º AÑOS DE SU INAUGURACIÓN / years from its opening

El 18 de mayo de 1978, Polar Studios abrió sus puertas en St Eriksgatan 58-60, Estocolmo, en presencia de toda la élite musical sueca, así como de directivos de discográficas rivales y figuras del mundo financiero y cultural.

En aquel entonces, Polar Studios era probablemente uno de los estudios más modernos del mundo y quizás también el más caro. En los medios de comunicación, se le describía a menudo como una "fábrica de sueños" para ABBA y Micke. Ahora podían trabajar sin restricciones de tiempo ni espacio.

El estudio era propiedad inicialmente de Micke, junto con Stikkan Andersson, Björn y Benny. La financiación provino principalmente de los fondos de STIM, el sello discográfico de ABBA. El grupo grabó sus tres últimos álbumes aquí, siendo "CHIQUITITA", la primera canción grabada. También los primeros discos solitarios de Frida y Agnetha y las composiciones del musical "CHESS".

The fact that the studio was "the best and biggest" naturally attracted many other international artists and groups over the years, such as Led Zeppelin, the Ramones, the Backstreet Boys, Celine Dion, Chic, Roxy Music, Genesis, and others.

The high demand for the studio sometimes caused booking problems, especially for Micke himself and the artists/groups he was working with at the time. The studio was regularly booked 24 hours a day. "Too many people in the studio," Micke would think.

This was probably one of the reasons Micke left Polar Studios after only a couple of years to dedicate himself to his own business and home studio in Sollentuna. A mini-studio in the garage that he finished by Christmas 1979.

But as a freelancer, Micke returned to Polar and worked on ABBA's last three albums and a dozen other productions, of which Chess was the largest and most extensive.

Anderson bought the shares of partners Ulvaeus and Andersson in 1984 before selling the facilities to a trading company. On May 1, 2004, Polar Studios closed permanently.

Hemos conocido la noticia de la muerte, hace unos días a los 91 años, de Buddy McCluskey, quien con su esposa Mary, hicieron las adaptaciones al español de las canciones de Abba. Empezaron con la versión de "CHIQUITITA", para luego continuar con las versiones de sus éxitos en español que se incluyeron en el álbum "GRACIAS POR LA MÚSICA" de 1980 En los siguientes 2 álbumes del grupo se incluyeron 2 temas en español en cada uno "ANDANTE", ANDANTE" y "FELICIDAD" de "SUPER TROUPER" y "NO HAY A QUIEN CULPAR" y ·SE ME ESTÁ ESCAPANDO" de "THE VISITORS". We've known the news about Buddy McCluskey's death a few days ago at the age of 91. Together with his wife Mary did the adaptatuons of Abba's songs into Spanish. Pobre 70º aniversario de Eurovisión, ni su eslogan es fiel a la realidad. No se verá, solo se informará del país ganador, esperando que no sea Israel. Por primera vez no se ha hecho seguimiento ni encontrado canciones favoritas que reseñar aquí.

Pity for Eurovision's 70th anniversary, not even its slogan is true to reality. It won't be seen, only the winner will be reported, hoping it's not Israel. For the first time no coverage or any favourite songs have been shown here.

EUROVISIÓN SE HUNDE Y YA NO PUEDEN OCULTARLO

Sin España, sin Irlanda, sin Países Bajos y con medio continente señalando su complicidad con Israel, Eurovisión vive la mayor crisis de su historia mientras intenta vender normalidad entre censura, protestas y propaganda. La audiencia cae, las canciones se escuchan un 45% menos, la UER pierde cerca de 800.000 euros solo en cuotas fijas y hasta el propio director del festival admite que “echan de menos” a los países que se marcharon. Lo que antes era una fiesta musical ahora es un escaparate político marcado por Gaza, el blanqueamiento internacional y una credibilidad hecha pedazos. Y cuanto más intentan taparlo, más evidente resulta el derrumbe.

EUROVISION IS SINKING AND THEY CAN NO LONGER HIDE IT

Without Spain, without Ireland, without the Netherlands, and with half the continent pointing at its complicity with Israel, Eurovision is experiencing the biggest crisis in history while trying to project an image of normality amidst censorship, protests and propaganda.Viewers are plummeting, song hearings are down 45%, the EBUis losing nearly 800.000€ in fixed fees alone and even the contest's director admits they "miss" the countries that left. What once was a musical celebration is now a political showcase marked by Gaza, international whitewashing and shattered credibilty. And the more they try to cover it up, the more evident the collapse becomes.

 La cantante británica Bonnie Tyler está en coma inducido en un hospital de Portugal, donde reside, tras una operación intestinal. La cantante tiene nuevo disco y empezaba gira el próximo día 22. En su página web han incluido un comunicado oficial. Deseamos su pronta recuperación. Incluímos su nuevo single.

British singer Bonnie Tyler is in induced coma at a Portuguese hospital, where she lives, after undergoing an intestinal surgery. The singer has a new record and was about to start a tour on the 22nd. There's an official statement on her webpage. We hope for her recovery. Including her new single.

"[6/5/26] We are very sorry to announce that Bonnie has been admitted to hospital in Faro, Portugal, where she has a home, for emergency intestinal surgery. The surgery went well and she is now recuperating. We know that all of her family, friends, and fans will be concerned about this news and will be wishing her well for a full and swift recovery.

[Update 8/5/26] Bonnie has been put into an induced coma by her doctors to aid her recovery. 

[Update 12/5/26] As of this morning Bonnie remains seriously ill but stable in hospital in Faro, however her doctors are still positive that she will make a full recovery."

 Ha muerto a los 80 años Georg "Jojje" Wadenius, famoso cantante, compositor, guitarrista y productor sueco. En 2010 lanzó "RECONNECTION" su álbum de colaboraciones en el que contó con Frida para versionar "MORNING HAS BROKEN". DEP.

Georg "Jojje" Wadenius, famous Swedish singer, composer, guitarist and producer, died at the age of 80. In 2010 he released "RECONNECTION", his album with many collaborations where Frida featured covering "MORNING HAS BROKEN". RIP.
