Sting goes symphonic, and has just kicked off a tour (Vancouver, Canada, 2nd June), which will go through North America and later Europe, in Spain in autumn (October: 27th-Bilbao, 29th-Madrid & 31st-Barcelona), and which will come together with an album that will be released in summer "SYMPHONICITIES". It all collects his Police and solo hits into symphonic sound with the Royal Philarmonic Concert Orchestra conducted by Steven Mercurio. We include a video of the rehearsals.
La canción "WE ARE THE WORLD" ("Somos el mundo") escrita por Michael Jackson y Lionel Richie volverá a grabarse en febrero con el objetivo de recaudar fondos para ayudar a mejorar la situación en Haití, informaron hoy medios de Estados Unidos. Richie y el productor discográfico Quincy Jones tenían previsto hacer una nueva versión del tema este año con motivo de su 25 aniversario, y la crisis humanitaria en Haití tras el terremoto sufrido hace más de una semana les animó dedicar los ingresos que se obtengan a ayudar a las víctimas.
La productora trabaja a contrarreloj para sumar artistas al proyecto en el que parece asegurada la participación de Usher, Natalie Cole y John Legend y suenan nombres como Sting, Fergie, Alicia Keys y Justin Timberlake entre los posibles colaboradores. No faltará Richie y tampoco la voz de Michael Jackson, que había vuelto a interpretar la canción para su gira "THIS IS IT"("Esto es todo") que resultó truncada tras su muerte el pasado 25 de junio.
"WE ARE THE WORLD" salió al mercado en 1985 con el propósito de recaudar fondos para la ayuda en África y estuvo respaldado por 45 estrellas como Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Cyndi Lauper y los hermanos Jackson.
The song "WE ARE THE WORLD" written by Michael Jackson & Lionel Richie will be recorded again in February to raise funds to help improve the situation in Haiti, according to reports from USA today. Richie and record producer Quincy Jones were thinking on doing a new version of the song on its 25th anniversary this year and the humanitarian crisis in Haiti after the earthquake more than a week ago made them think of a good reason to raise money for its victims.
The producer is working against the clock to sum up artists to the project on which they already count with Sting, Fergie, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake among possible collaborators. Richie won't be missing, and Michael Jackson's voice won't be either, as he had planned to perform the song during his "THIS IS IT" tour which was put off after his sudden death on June 25th.
"WE ARE THE WORLD" was released in 1985 to raise money to help Africa and was backed by 45 famous artists of the time Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Steve Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Cyndi Lauper & the Jackson Brothers.
