His musical career started when he was 16, and was the lead singer and guitarist in different bands. After that he had a solo career and released two albums in 1989 and 1992.
Elofsson became a full-time songwriter in 1994, when he worked with the Swedish artist Carola. His work at Cheiron Studios began in January 1998, and he has mainly been working together with David Kreuger and Per Magnusson. In 2005 he created the record label Planet Six, part of former BMG, currently Universal Music Publishing Group.

STOCKHOLM, March 11, 2013 – “Never thought that I’d ever sing again. But hearing the first three songs, I just couldn’t say no!”
With these words, one of popular music’s most recognisable and celebrated names of the past 40 years – Agnetha Fältskog – signals her return to the spotlight. The siren songstress from ABBA is coming back with a new album “A”, due for release in May and preceded by a curtain-raising track, “When You Really Loved Someone,” which is available internationally as a single to buy from TODAY, Monday March 11. Agnetha’s new official website, Facebook, Twitter (@AgnethaOfficial) and VEVO channel featuring the brand new video for “When You Really Loved Someone” will all be live from 10am UK time today.
Agnetha has been working with renowned, Grammy-nominated songwriter/producer Jörgen Elofsson – who has been responsible for hits by Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, Celine Dion and Westlife, among others – and acclaimed producer/arranger Peter Nordahl on her brand new album.
“She wanted to make music again,” says Elofsson, “We could feel that. She had been thinking about it. Basically, she’s a musician, a songwriter/singer who hasn’t done that for a while. We saw her open up, become much happier, with music again in her life.”
“A” features one of Agnetha first co-writes in many years: “I hadn’t written any music for a long, long time,” she says. “But I sat at the piano, and suddenly it was there.”
Anticipated by millions of ABBA fans worldwide, Agnetha’s brand new material is being released by Universal Music Group, the global music leader. The album was finished. Agnetha Fältskog was satisfied. Songwriter Jörgen Elofsson was satisfied. He still wanted to talk about it with a former member of ABBA.
-When we were finished with the album I called Benny, says Jörgen Elofsson. I wanted the pope's blessing.
He received it.
-I was very nervous, but it was fun to play it for him, says Jörgen Elofsson, 51. Benny Andersson was very kind and said it was her best solo album after the ABBA-years.
Agnetha Fältskog's album "A" will be released on May 13. The idea appeared a few years ago. Jörgen Elofsson and the producer Peter Nordahl wanted to make an album - most of all with Agnetha Fältskog.
"She is a hero"
-How do you get a hold of her? We had a few contacts and finally we got to meet her, says Jörgen Elofsson. We arrived at her house too early and nervously shook in the car while we waited. Agnetha is a hero to both of us. But when we met she was really nice.
There were a few finished songs back then in September 2011.
-I had 15 songs which and chose three which we played for Agnetha. She got to choose the one she liked the most. It was "The One Who Loves You Now", the first one we recorded.
Another song was the new single "When You Really Loved Someone". The rest was written during the recording.
-She is an incredible storyteller, says Jörgen Elofsson. We are an instrument so that she can sing again.
