Several of our favourite Swedes Helen Sjöholm & Robin Bengtsson, are singers who have given voice to a charity song against Covid-19 in Sweden with the song "VI HALLER UT". Up to there everything normal, just another charity song. But the funny thing is that it's the Swedish version of the famous Duo Dinamico's "RESISTIRÉ". + info: [Scandipop] What’s this? A whole host of Swedish artists and musicians (around 50 in total) have got together to record a song and video – ‘Vi Håller Ut’ – dedicated to Sweden’s fight against Covid-19. It is a cover of the Spanish classic ‘Resistiré’, by Dúo Dinámico, with Swedish text by Ingela ”Pling” Forsman. What does ‘Vi Håller Ut’ mean? We wait it out, we see it through, we endure. Who is taking part? Amongst the talent giving their time and vocals are Helene Sjöholm, Sarah Dawn Finer, Mariette, Jessica Andersson, Dolly Style, Therese Grankvist, Robin Bengtsson, Magnus Carlsson, Sean Banan, The Lovers Of Valdaro and Johan Becker. But you can find a full list of credits under the YouTube video (in Swedish). And what’s it like? It’s really the best kind of song for something like this – an infectiously uplifting bop and a half!

ABBA’S STUDIO ALBUMS FOR THE FIRST TIME ON COLOURED VINYL.
ABBA: The Studio Albums, due for release on 3 July.
Nearly 40 years since the release of their last album, we are celebrating ABBA’s entire studio discography with an 8LP box set that features each of their groundbreaking records for the first time on coloured vinyl, and with replica LP artwork. Due for release on 3 July.
Across eight studio albums released over eight years, ABBA established themselves as a truly boundary-pushing force in music.
Dominating the charts throughout the 70s, and continuing their winning streak into the early 80s, the Swedish four-piece redefined what pop music was capable of, with each new album charting an astounding artistic progression. Four decades after their last release, 1981’s The Visitors, their music remains a fabric of our culture, with stage shows, cinematic blockbusters and even themed restaurants bringing ABBA to new generations of fans.
Taken together, these eight albums represent one of the most stunningly creative runs in pop music history, setting the bar for all those who followed in ABBA’s wake.

Madonna's first use of Abba's music wasn't for her famous hit "Hung up", as we already listened to on our Versions-1. There was another previous version in the time of her album "Frozen", Madonna recorded a version of an Abba song that was never included on the record. The same song was one that the Swedish soprano-singer Anne Sofie von Otter did, among others of the group, for a record produced by Benny Andersson. The song in both cases is "Like an angel passing through my room", that Frida sang solo closing the last studio album from the group. From its title the angel on the record-sleeve, we suppose (See Abba related-places-2). There are more covers by Sissel & Celtic Women
