Cuando Tracey Thorn y Ben Watt, Everything But The Girl, han anunciado recientemente su regreso con un nuevo disco en 2023, os descubrimos de dónde viene su curioso nombre. Ambos se conocieron estudiando en la universidad de (Kingston upon) Hull, allí empezaron a cantar juntos y el nombre viene de un eslogan publicitario de una tienda de muebles Turner's de esa ciudad que decía que montaban todo tu dormitorio, excepto la chica. La tienda estaba situada en Beveryley Road, pero ahora alberga la Cámara de Comercio de la ciudad. Mientras tanto, esperamos su nueva música...

When Tracey Thorn & Ben Watt, Everything But The Girl, have recently announced their comeback with a new record in 2023, we tell you where their curious name comes from. They both meet as students at (Kingston upon) Hull's university, where they started to sing together. The band's curious name comes from an advertisement slogan of Turner's furniture shop in that city which said they'd set up all your bedroom with everything, but the girl. The shop was situated on Beverley road, but it now houses the city's Chamber of Commerce. Meanwhile, waiting for their new music...

MAKING OF "LITTLE THINGS" VIDEO

"Una familia despertándose el día de Navidad en una antigua casa Victoriana" - ese es la parte del ambiente que ABBA querían mostrar con su canción "LITTLE THINGS". Su directora Sophie Muller dice que parte de su inspiración al concibir el video vino del espectáculo Voyage de las superestrellas suecas - "informada de la tecnología y ambición". El motivo de la obra escolar es tan sabia como bonita. Varios actores infantiles eran familiares de los creativos del video y la manera en que suben al escenario como sus héroes es una fiesta.

"A family waking up on Christmas day in an old Victorian house" - that's part of the mood that ABBA wanted to set with their "LITTLE THINGS" song. Director Sophie Muller says that part of her inspiration for conceiving the video came from the Swedish superstars' Voyage show - "informed by technology and ambition." The school play motif is as wise as it is cute. Several of the child actors were related to the video's creatives, and the way they take the stage as their heroes is a hoot.

Hoy ha fallecido Svenne Hedlund, compañero de Benny Andersson en el grupo Hep Stars y parte del duo Svenne & Lotta, su mujer, con quien fue candidato a Eurovision por Suecia en 1975 con la canción "BANG-A-BOOMERANG".

Today Svenne Hedlund, Benny Andersson's bandmate in Hep Stars has passed away. He also was part of the duo Svenne & Lotta, his wife, who tried to represent Sweden in 1975 in Eurovision with the song "BANG-A-BOOMERANG".

MUERE FLEETWOOD MAC'S CHRISTINE McVIE dies

Lamentablemente esta es la tercera entrada consecutiva dedicada a informar sobre muertes de grandes cantantes. Esta tercera es por Christie McVie, una de las cantantes y compositoras del grupo Fleetwood Mac, que falleció hoy a la edad de 79 años. Tristemente la despedimos recordándola con algunas de sus propias composiciones para el grupo. DEP.

Unfortunately this is the third post in a row devoted to report about deaths of great performers. This third one is for Christie McVie, one of the singers and composers of the band Fleetwood Mac, who died today at the age of 79. We sadly say farewell to her with some of her own songs composed by her for the group. RIP.
